Create a New Work Order
Create a repair order by connecting the correct client, instrument, symptoms, and requested work.
Published October 16, 2026
A work order represents one specific repair or service visit.
Start a new order
Open Orders and choose the option to create a new order, or start the order from a client record.
You can also let Intake prepare the client, instrument, and work order for you.
Choose the client
Search for an existing client whenever possible.
If the customer is new, create a new client during the order workflow.
Choose the instrument
Select one of the client's existing instruments, or create a new instrument.
Using the existing instrument record preserves its service history across visits.
Enter the repair information
Keep these two fields separate:
Known Issues / Symptoms
What the customer reports or what has been observed about the problem.
Scope of Work
What the shop intends to perform.
For example:
Known Issues / Symptoms:
"Output cuts out when the cable moves."
Scope of Work:
"Diagnose intermittent output and replace jack if required."
Finish the order
Review the client, instrument, and repair details before creating the order.
AXB assigns the work-order number automatically.
After the order exists, you can add services, notes, files, Bench Sessions, customer updates, and other repair information as the job moves through the shop.
