AXB:Shop Register, Sample Shop & Payments — Development Update

An October development update: the AXB:Shop register, sample storefront, customer-aware product suggestions, and reporting have advanced in preview. Stripe integration has passed sandbox tests, and AXB Mobile has an early shared-register foundation. These are not announcements of a general release or live card processing.

Added

  • Reports & End of Day (Shop preview) — Shop owners and admins can review sales, payment methods, returns and voids, then reconcile a day's cash with a recorded opening count, closing count and variance. Final owner acceptance is still pending. Applies to: Shop
  • AXB Sample Shop v3 (Shop preview) — Optional sample data now includes 75 example retail products, 19 starter service templates, and 21 fictional sales with customer purchase histories. Shops can Keep selected catalog items or templates and remove the remaining sample data. Applies to: Shop
  • Customer Profile & purchase history (Shop preview) — A connected customer view brings together contact details, instruments, repairs, purchases and communications, with direct actions to start a sale or work order. Applies to: Platform, Shop
  • +2 more

Improved

  • Register workspace (Shop preview) — A more counter-friendly sale screen adds a compact cart, quantity editing, a product picker that can fold away, and a small draggable resize grip on desktop. Mobile keeps its simpler layout. Applies to: Shop
  • Customer-aware product selection (Shop preview) — The Register can prioritize a customer's past purchases and offer rule-based suggestions connected to their instruments or recent service, without claiming verified product compatibility. Applies to: Shop
  • Unified checkout and transaction controls (Shop preview) — Retail sales can combine products, custom items and eligible repair work orders in one transaction. Workflows now include item discounts, controlled returns and stock-restock decisions; basic repair checkout remains an AXB:Bench capability. Applies to: Bench, Shop

Fixed

  • Sample-customer draft sales (Shop preview) — A sample customer can now be attached to a new draft Register sale for demonstration while payment, card charging, completion and operational reporting safeguards continue to block sample activity. Applies to: Shop

Checkout, Email & AXB:Shop Core Expansion

AXB:Bench now carries repairs through payment, receipt, sales history, and customer email, while AXB:Shop gains its first native register, product catalog, and basic inventory workflow.

Added

  • Recorded payments & sale completion — AXB:Bench checkout can now record cash, card-terminal, check, or other payments already taken outside AXB, handle partial payments, complete paid sales, and keep Paid separate from pickup / Delivered status. Applies to: Platform, Bench
  • Receipts, sales history & corrections — completed sales now produce immutable printable receipts, appear in searchable Sales history, and support controlled payment and sale void records without rewriting the original transaction. Applies to: Platform, Bench
  • Transactional email workflows — staff can send Customer Updates, Ready Notices, Portal Links, staff invitations, and finalized receipt or VOID-record emails through explicit preview-and-confirm flows; client Do not email and shop Reply-To / display-name settings are enforced. Applies to: Platform, Bench
  • +2 more

Improved

  • Workspace-aware navigation — header identity, home behavior, Sales routing, and mobile navigation now follow the active :Bench or :Shop workspace while keeping shared customers and sales connected. Applies to: Platform, Bench, Shop
  • Register repair summaries — customer repair views now show accurate Ready and Pending counts, including Ready repairs already attached to another draft sale; those repairs remain visible but cannot be added twice. Applies to: Shop

Fixed

  • Cross-shop and catalog safeguards — category edits are checked against the active shop, sale routes exit correctly on shop changes, and catalog products no longer show a false unknown-type warning when added to checkout. Applies to: Platform, Shop

Knowledge Guidance, Instrument IDs & Workflow Improvements

Approved shop knowledge can now guide the Assistants more directly, permanent AXB Instrument IDs establish a foundation for long-term instrument history, and new Boost, sample-data, window, and mobile improvements strengthen everyday shop use.

Added

  • Knowledge-powered Shop & Bench Assistants — approved Knowledge entries can now be designated as Assistant Guidance for Shop, Bench, and Intake. Shop and Bench Assistants can also automatically bring relevant approved Knowledge into conversations, while Bench can directly search and open Knowledge when needed. Applies to: Platform, Bench
  • Permanent AXB Instrument IDs — physical instruments can now receive permanent AXBI-... identities that belong to the instrument itself rather than an individual shop record. This establishes the shared identity layer for long-term instrument history across the growing AXB ecosystem, including AXB:Bench and the upcoming AXB:Solo experience. Applies to: Platform, Bench, Solo
  • Installable Sample Data — shops can now be populated with a realistic fictional dataset including customers, instruments, work orders, sessions, measurements, inspections, tasks, items, and photos. Sample data can later be removed without affecting real shop records. Applies to: Platform, Bench

Improved

  • Boost is now Off / On / Turbo — Bench and Shop Boost use a simpler three-level control with one shared monthly Boost Minutes allowance. Standard Mini voice remains outside the Boost Minutes pool. Applies to: Platform, Bench
  • Expanded Shop Assistant window controls — dragging can now undock and dock Shop Assistant, including on touch devices, while Minimize turns the active Assistant into a movable pill without ending the conversation or call. Applies to: Bench
  • Improved phone readability — small text, labels, and supporting information are easier to read on phone-sized screens while preserving the existing mobile layout. Applies to: Bench

Fixed

  • Work-order shop switching — switching shops while viewing or editing a work order now exits the previous shop’s record correctly instead of leaving the page stuck in an endless loading state. Applies to: Bench

AXB:Bench Identity & Assistant Polish

A cleaner AXB:Bench identity arrives alongside major Bench and Shop Assistant interface improvements for faster, more flexible day-to-day work.

Added

  • Introduced the AXB:Bench product identity under the AXB Tech company brand, with a cleaner Workbench Intelligence wordmark across the app.
  • Shop Assistant can now follow the active shop across pages, use current screen/work-order context, and apply session-scoped Shop Boost when needed.
  • Desktop Shop Assistant can undock into a movable, resizable tool window while keeping the same session and live voice connection.

Improved

  • Bench Assistant is now one unified Chat | Voice panel with a shared conversation timeline, integrated Bench Boost, and persistent same-order context.
  • Bench and Shop Assistant panels can collapse without stopping active work; live Shop voice can minimize to a floating indicator while the user navigates.
  • Shop Assistant mobile layout gives substantially more room to Intake and conversation content, with session switching moved into the compact wrench menu.

Fixed

  • Assistant presentation changes no longer require users to understand separate voice/chat implementation paths; one Assistant keeps the active session context.

Work Order Overhaul & Session Timing

A major work-order release reorganized day-to-day repair operations, added official session timing, and shipped several workflow and platform foundations.

Added

  • Smart Summary surfaces useful saved work-order, session, status, and portal context without making an AI call when the page loads.
  • Work-order status transitions now retain durable history and can carry session/segment context into repair history and session summaries.
  • Official session time tracking adds Active, Break, and Elapsed totals, historical timing, a hideable live timer, and a conservative 12-hour open-session warning.
  • +1 more

Improved

  • The work-order page now uses a Sessions-first operational layout with a collapsible Order Overview / Repair Summary, compact Scope of Work, and improved Client Portal placement.
  • Status editing is separated from the read-only overview—draft changes live in Edit, while an open session keeps immediate operational status access.
  • Bench Assistant model and reasoning controls can be managed independently from Shop Assistant behavior while preserving realtime Spoken Voice as a separate layer.
  • +2 more

Fixed

  • Removed duplicate Start / Resume actions from the work-order workflow; Session Open is informational while the active session surface owns the controls.

POS Foundations, Voice Minutes & Client List

Foundation work toward AXB Tech:Shop checkout, alongside simpler Spoken Voice allowances and a denser client workspace.

Added

  • Initial AXB Tech:Shop POS foundation with shop-scoped sales, sale items, payments, events, and checkout entitlements.
  • Checkout from a Ready work order now creates an independent draft sale while preserving the original repair record.
  • Configurable checkout tax / GET settings, taxable-line controls, fixed or percentage discounts, and authoritative checkout totals.

Improved

  • Replaced the shop-facing credit-style voice allowance with 250 Spoken Voice minutes per month for customer shops; chat and dictation remain unlimited.
  • Clients now default to a compact List view, with dense Name / Phone / Email rows and expandable details; tablet and mobile keep creation actions inside the expanded row.
  • Checkout calculations snapshot tax settings per sale so later shop-setting changes do not silently rewrite an in-progress checkout.

Fixed

  • Voice allowance accounting now meters recorded Spoken Voice time directly instead of estimating usage from token-based credit formulas.
  • POS Stage 1 stops at checkout calculation for now; payment processing, closeout, and receipt history remain intentionally deferred to later stages.
