Add an Existing Repair File to the Instrument

Keep useful photos and files with the instrument for future visits without uploading duplicate copies.

Published October 16, 2026

Some files are useful beyond a single work order.

For example:

  • A clear serial-number photo
  • Wiring reference
  • Pickup cavity photo
  • Structural repair photo
  • A recurring setup reference

AXB can associate an existing repair file with the instrument as well as the work order.

Add to Instrument

From a supported work-order file, choose Add to Instrument.

AXB links the existing file to the instrument rather than uploading a second copy.

The work-order relationship stays intact, and the same underlying file can remain useful in the instrument's long-term history.

Why use the instrument library?

Work-order files explain one repair.

Instrument files are useful when you want the information to follow the instrument across future visits.

Removing a file from one location does not necessarily mean the underlying file should disappear everywhere.

AXB's file system is designed to preserve a file when it is still linked to another valid part of the repair or instrument history.
