End a Bench Session and Create a Summary

Finish a period of bench work while preserving the session record and optionally saving a summary.

Published October 16, 2026

End a Bench Session when that period of hands-on work is finished.

Ending the session does not require the entire work order to be complete. You can start another Bench Session later.

End Session

Choose End Session from the active Bench Session.

You can choose:

  • End now — Ends the session and keeps its saved history without creating a new summary.
  • Create summary — Generates an editable summary of the session before ending it.
  • Keep working — Returns to the active session.

Create a summary

When you choose Create summary, AXB prepares a high-level draft based on the session record.

Review the draft before saving it.

The summary is not saved until you choose Save summary & end.

A summary is useful because it gives the next technician—or your future self—a fast way to understand what happened without rereading the full conversation history.

Detailed history is still preserved

The summary does not replace the underlying session record.

Saved chat, voice transcript, notes, measurements, findings, and other session information remain part of the repair history.

Empty sessions

If a session is truly blank, AXB can offer Discard session.

A session is considered blank only when it contains no meaningful notes, typed messages, or voice transcript content.

Discarding a blank session removes it instead of leaving an empty record in the repair history.
